Members of CERME, Professor Jodie Hunter, Dr Generosa Leach, Dr Aehee Ahn, and Louise Fitzgerald have successfully won seed funding from Te Pūnaha Matatini for a project entitled: “Connecting Science, Mathematics, Technology and Engineering (STEM) education and social justice through modelling related to complex systems”. The project which will run in 2026 will involve working with Pacific and Māori youth to support them to draw on their knowledge of STEM subjects to develop mathematical and scientific models related to complex systems to address and solve social justice issues.
